FAQs About Our Implant Dentist in Wilmington, NC
Experienced general and implant dentist for all your dental needs
Q: How often should I see my dentist?+
We encourage all patients so schedule a visit with our dentist in Wilmington, NC, at least once every six months and more frequently for cleanings and checkups if they have gum disease. Dr. James Gainer can put together a tentative schedule of treatments and visits during your visit.
Q: How often should I brush and floss my teeth? +
The American Dental Association (ADA) recommends brushing twice a day and cleaning between the teeth by flossing or using an interdental cleaner at least once a day. Choose a toothbrush that fits your mouth comfortably and allows you to brush at least twice a day with ease.
Q: What are my options for tooth replacement? +
You can turn to our implant dentist in Wilmington, NC, for permanent tooth replacement procedures. Dr. Gainer has extensive experience placing dental implants using 3D technology and may refer you out to an oral surgeon for the All-on-4® procedure. We also offer custom dentures and implant dentures at our practice.
Q: What are the benefits of laser dentistry? +
We perform a number of procedures using the soft tissue Picasso diode laser. This laser offers numerous benefits to the patient, including fast healing and recovery times, and less discomfort.
Q: What can I do about a damaged tooth? +
Dr. Gainer may recommend composite fillings and a custom CEREC® crown to restore your tooth. These restorative treatments can strengthen and rebuild the tooth to its natural state. We use high-quality materials and innovative techniques to ensure optimal results with all of our procedures and services.
Q: Do you offer teeth whitening services? +
Yes. We offer “FREE Whitening for Life” for our dedicated patients who have their teeth cleaned twice a year and have no existing decay. The patients that make this commitment will receive free refills of whitening material at each hygiene visit. At this time, we are not offering any professional In-Office whitening because the tray-based whitening kits are more beneficial and cost effective for our patients.
